The Lull
This is a funny time of year. The lull before Smoke Screen goes on sale when the final, but oh so important book details are seen to. I recently returned from New York where I met with Andrew Eccles so that he could shoot the jacket photo for Smoke Screen. Check back soon for a video!
Now that I’m back in the office, I’m busy reviewing the galleys for Smokes Screen, approving the audio cover and script and a thousand other details that have to be settled before the book can be put to bed and I can catch my breath before moving on to something new.
Speaking of something new, I recently approved the cover for TEXAS! LUCKY, a January 2009 hardcover reissue (and Spring 2009 audio book!).
What do you think?
In the mean time, I’ve got to get these galleys done. We’re leaving soon on vacation with some friends.

Hi Sandra!
Love the cover. I think it does a great job of capturing a Texas sky. And Lucky!! Wuhhh!! I wouldn’t mind taking a spin with him.
Can’t wait for Smoke Screen. Hopefully you have a signing scheduled in Arlington again this year.

Hey Sandra,
I just wanted to tell you how a fantastic and talented writer you are. In fact, you’re my primary source of inspiration when I’m writing short stories. My all time favorite is Richochet. But, hey, I enjoy them all! The cover jacket looks great! Can’t wait to pry it open, if you catch my drift. Not sure if this is a possibility, but I was curious to know if one of your book signings will include a stop in Charlotte, North Carolina or somewhere in the vacinity? Keep up the good work!

Oh Sandra!
I LOVE the cover! Love it…love it…love it!! Not only is the Texas! Trilogy one of my favorite stories, and not only did I ponder and torture myself for months over whether or not to name my daughter Sage…but now you have put a classic Mustang on the cover of the story of my favorite character of the series!
I am a Mustang enthusiast and this is just too much! I need some wine….

Heather,
I’m afraid we don’t have the entire 2009 publishing schedule, so I can’t give you anything definitive, but probably. Check back often for updates!

I have 12 grandchildren and one due any day now. I watch 6 every day and in the last 6 days I have sat by the pool reading the Texas trilogy and I was the happiest grandma around. While clapping for great dives, super jumps and breaking to play “Marco Polo” I sat in my lawn chair and hung unto ever line in those books. Why couldn’t Laurie have had more children? I want to read more! The 6 days went by so fast, summer pool games still go on and I have enjoyed a sexy, romantic series. Thanx!

Sandra,
I have loaned my copies of the “Texas Series” out to many friends, sometimes they don’t come back, so I have had to buy replacements. My series went around the office, we used to dream about who we would cast in the mini series, as you couldn’t do it justice in 2 hours. One co-worker had to limit how much she read each night as she got “steamy”, lol. I’ve have many of your books but the Texas series is my absolute fav, when I meet a man like Harlan, my search will be over. Sadly you say he came out of your imagination, so he doesn’t exist, you have some imagination!! I’m so looking forward to the reprint and I hope the whole series is reprinted as these will be my copies not to be loaned out. Are you doing an audio version, I do enjoy audio books when quilting or sewing, unabridged that is, abridged put me to sleep.
Love those Texas cowboys!!

I am a HUGE fan of yours. I have EVERY book you have ever wrote. And I LOVE them all. Last year I read Play Dirty in one day; when I e-mailed you(2 days after it was released) to coment on how much I loved the book, you told me I was the first person to send you an e-mail about the book. The Texas Series I LOVED and I did not want it to end. I just wanted to tell that the cover fits Lucky; the book and the man. When I saw it, I thought that is just the way you would find Lucky. Leaning on his car, waiting for the next exciting thing in his life to happen. Knowing it will come to him, not the other way. Can’t wait until Smoke Screen comes out. Love from TEXAS, Your Fan
