Good News!

December 9th, 2008

I’m not the only grownup in my family who’s been working really hard lately.  My husband Michael has produced a pilot show he hopes to sell as a series to a cable TV channel.  It’s called Vette Collections and features — Duh!– collections of Corvettes from around the US.  Who knew there were such things?  Believe me, there are.  Lots of them.  And some of the collections are breathtaking.  If you’re a car guy (or girl), or you know one, take a look at a sample of the show here.

Daughter Rachel is featured in one of the segments.  She talks the viewer through her dad’s collection and can also be spotted in the show’s open, driving one of his vintage convertibles.  Red hair and sunglasses — gorgeous!

Meanwhile my daughter-in-law Victoria is hosting a cable TV show called A Taste from the Meltingpot.  It’ll start airing in January, but in the meantime segments are available for viewing at:http://www.ebru.tv/en/p.fullepisode.html?prg=Melting%20Pot

Yes, the accent is authentic.  She’s originally from England.  She’ll soon be featured in another travel show for cable.  More on that later.

My son Ryan has recently completed a novel and it’s in the hands of an agent.  It’s great fun!  But he’d kill me if I revealed too much here.  Suffice to say it’s nothing like my books!  A short story by him will also be included in an anthology for young adults, slated to be published by Penguin for Halloween 2010.  The anthology is being edited by R.L. Stine and Jon Land for ThrillerWriters International.

Son-in-law Pete is a baseball pitcher.  A lefty, no less.  In college he pitched in the college World Series for Rice University.  He now plays in a Dallas league of teams who take their baseball seriously.  His team, the Barons, recently went undefeated to win an international tournament in Florida.

Be sure to check the photo gallery in the next day or two for photos from our recent Thanksgiving trip to New York City!
