Rainwater
For several months, I’ve been hinting at a surprise which would be divulged in the fall. Well, fall is here (not in Texas yet, where it’s still so bloomin’ hot!), and the secret has already been revealed on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Borders and other book selling venues.
RAINWATER is a different kind of novel for me — not a thriller, not a suspense. Set in Depression era Texas, against a backdrop of economic crisis and racial tensions, this poignant story is about the single mother of a challenged child, who runs a boarding house. Ella Barron’s carefully controlled life is irrevocably changed when she takes in a new boarder, Mr. Rainwater, who has an impact not only on Ella’s future, but on the community.
Find out more by going to the RAINWATER page. Read the backstory of how the book came about, and watch the video of me talking about it.
RAINWATER goes on sale November 3 — just in time for the holiday season. I’ll be talking about and signing RAINWATER at the Texas Book Festival the weekend before, and newsletter subscribers will be getting a special early sneak peek before the excerpt even goes live on the website!
Stay tuned for contest news.
I can’t wait for Rainwater to come out. You are my favorite author and I’m sure this book will be one of your best. It sounds wonderful already.
Since I’m your biggest fan I can say that this is exciting news! It wouldn’t matter what you wrote, you have a style and a voice and the talent to make any story good. I am really excited about this and loved hearing how you came up with it. Thanks for taking the time to share this! I can’t wait to read RAINWATER!
