National Celebration of Reading

John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts
2700 F Street, NW Washington, DC 20566

November 12, 2019

The Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy’s Celebration of Reading events, held throughout the nation, have historically served to raise funds in support of the Foundation’s work, raise awareness of our country’s literacy crisis, and celebrate the life-changing power of literacy.

This year’s very special National Celebration of Reading will commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy. The evening will feature many of the elements that have made the Foundation’s Celebration of Reading events so popular over the years, including appearances by Bush family members, best-selling authors, and entertainers—with the addition of some very special guests to help honor our “Pearl” anniversary.

The day’s activities will also include a private, intimate luncheon attended by major donors, featured authors, and Bush family members; a pre-event Authors’ Reception; and a seated dinner after the program.
